Memorial day was a hard day for me. One year ago I called 911 while visiting with Grandma Mary and had to have her taken to the hospital, and she never left the hospital after that. It has been a really hard year for me since then. Every 5 day weekend that I had which happens to be every three weeks, I would go up to Smithfield and spend them with Grandma (especially when Matt was gone taking the scouts camping). So since she has been gone I have had to stay home by myself. You never know how much you will miss someone until they are no longer there to visit with. I miss those days, and sometimes I wish I could remember all the things that Grandma and I talked about on my visits.
Anyway, This Memorial day Matt and I drove up to Smithfield to put flowers on Grandma and Grandpa's graves. I remember when I would be there with Grandma we would put flowers on Grandpa, Boyd, and Randee graves so I wanted to continue that tradition. Here is a picture of Grandma and Grandpa's grave.

Mom wanted me to go by Grandma's house while we were there just to make sure the yard was being taken care of, and things were looking good so Matt and I did that as well.

As you can see it looks just as beautiful as it always has.
Then on our way back home we stopped off to see Wally and Gwen. It was great visiting with them for a while. Then we were on our way. Instead of going home through Sardine Canyon we went through Hyrum, and then out through Ogden Canyon. It was a beautiful drive. Not to mention we got the chance to stop and do some fishing on our way home. I actually caught more fish than Matt did. We let all of the fish we caught go because we had no way to keep them cool.
In the end it was a great weekend.
